When we play as a team we all look the same,
The psychology of life is a confusing game
Uniforms designed to conform
Us to belonging
Per the norm like
There’s something wrong in
Going against the standard
To stand out
Let me out
Of the box
That tells me to
Dare to be different
I AM different
Not like
Anyone else, and that’s what makes me, me
Don’t take the liberty
To tell me I have to dare to be free
Such confusion
Supports the delusion
When the reality is
That when I don’t try to fit in
I am already in
The right place
You think that
My face
Doesn’t fit
Because you don’t like it
Or my clothes
Aren’t like yours
So I’m not worth
Standing up for
Stand down
And look around
You’ve got it all wrong
We are different
But we all belong
You don’t even accept yourself
So how could you accept anyone else
But you thought it was
Because
We are not the same
Shame
You didn’t realise
That in this life
It’s not what you do
Or what they see
It’s when you are you
And I am me
That’s what makes us on the same team.
