I Arrived in Heaven Early

I arrived in heaven early
It wasn’t in my plan
I didn’t know quite where to go
Then love held firm my hand

Not quite what I expected
The scene I got to meet
The people there couldn’t wait to share
Their welcome towards me

I was greeted with such beauty
Beyond what the eye can see
Love, peace and joy and all the things
We’d want our lives to be

The thing I can’t describe
I could hate and fear no more
No evil could be felt there
Like nothing known before

And the people kept on coming
So many more like me
We all who entered early
Were welcomed specially

I arrived in heaven early
Not ready yet to die
But if only you could see me now
You’d smile when you cry
