In a self obsessed society
Where does one acquire propriety?
When it’s only me admitting
That the place that I am sitting
Is what’s justly right and fitting
Exactly where do I fit YOU in?
If I look at my reflection
Is my focus one direction
Do I feign a misconception
That I’m all about relation?
Can I take a look beyond me
Challenge hate on every boundary
Look to greet the eyes, with love,
Of everyone I find around me
I can’t take this mediocrity
That waits for an atrocity
To take the very worst of me
And cause the love to burst from me
We need to turn the paper round
Self portrait view
To landscape ground
For US to be our surround sound
And no more ‘me’, nor ‘I’, but WE
My prayer for the world, for you Paris
